Physics

The physics subject at special level was introduced from June 1987 taking into account the need and demand by natural growth. The students who want to optional physics at special level before opening of the department have to go to district places where they have to spend unaffordable expenses towards Lodging and Boarding. These inconveniences faced by the poor students and economically backward were solved by introducing physics at special level in the college. Since opening the department is having an excellent tradition of examination results. The teaching and Technical Staff remains always alert, and helps the students. The teachers and Technical staff have established homely relation with students.

  The alumni of the department help the teachers by providing a good feedback through their frequent visit to the department. The almost all the students who passed out before June 2018, are employed. It is a matter of pleasure that all ex-students of the department are working as responsible citizens and works on Good positions. More than two hundred students of our Department have completed their PG level education. Our thirteen past students have completed their Ph. D degree after M Sc. Four past students viz. Dr. Tanaji Chavan, Dr. Dattatray More, Mr. Avinash Molane and Mr. Avinash Molane have cleared SET examination after their PG degree. Eight past students have completed their Post doctoral research abroad viz. Dr. Tanaji Gujar, Dr. Habib Pathan, Dr. Dattatray Dhawale, Dr. Sachin Kulkarni, Dr. Ramesh Devkate, Dr. Ajay Jagadale, Dr. S S Kawale and Dr. Surendra Shinde. Out of them Dr. Habib Pathan and Dr. Dattatray Dhawale past students of the Department were selected among seventeenth young scientists in India selected for the discussion with the noble award winner scientist all over the world. Now Dr. Habib Pathan is working as an Associate Professor in Physics at Dept. of Physics, Savitribai Phule Pune University Pune. Our past Students Mangesh Joshi and Rohit Jadhav are working on Web enabling Asset Management Software as a Sr. System Engineer at Global Exchange Services Ins. 100, Edison Park Drive Gaithersburg Maryland U.S.A. 20878(90 Miles away from Washington DC) and Vayunand Vasekar is abroad. Most of the students are working in teaching field however some are also in administration after successful completion of M.P.S.C. Exams. We are proud that our past student Surekha Mane has joined as a Deputy Collector. Javid Sayyad is S D E in telecommunication Department. Dr. Harish Kulkarni is selected as Principal at J S P M Pune. Sachin Jadhav is selected in Indian Army as a Hav Instructor. One of our Students Pratik Jadhav is selected for NDA. After completing it, he will be joining as an Officer in Defense Services of India.

Reshma Shaikh stood overall first at B. Sc. in University and win Gold Medal in Physics of Punyaslok Ahilydevi Holkar Solapur University, Solapur. In the same academic year Miss Divya Pawar was overall third rank at B. Sc. and second in Physics subject of University. Miss Varsha Londhe and Miss Sabia Bagwan remain University first rank position in Physics during successive years. Sachin Kulkarni, Deepali Kulkarni, Divya Pawar and Reshma Shaikh were Gold Medalists of M. Sc. Degree at their PG level education in the respective Universities.

The department is having a good intellectual staff. Among them three are Ph.D. degree holders and are engaged in research. More than hundred articles have been published in the Research Journals of National / International standards. Twenty books are published at National level and five books at International level Publishing House. Our departmental staff members have attended National and International level Seminars/ Conferences and presented several research papers. We are proud that one of our Colleague Dr. Kolekar is selected as a Principal and other Dr. V J Fulari is selected as a University teacher in Shivaji University Kolhapur and performed a responsibility as a Professor and Head of Physics Department. Dr. V J Fulari had worked at various places in different Universities as a NAAC Peer team member. Dr. B. R. Karche looks after College N.C.C. unit as an extra co-curricular activity. He was the winner of Commandant’s silver medal at National Level during his Pre-Commission training of NCC. The N. C. C. unit has achieved a marvelous success under his supervision and guidance. Twenty-seven Cadets are selected for Republic Day Parade at New Delhi. So many Cadets are getting various types of scholarships from NCC. One of the staff members Dr. C. S. Pawar Ex-Student of the department has completed his Ph.D. Degree and joined as an Assistant Professor in this Department. There is a research centre for Physics since 2012. Five students have been awarded their Ph. D degree from our research centre. The staff members are participating in remedial coaching, different college and institutional activities with full devotion. The staff of the department had participated in the scientific exhibitions organized by parent institution. The staff members also participate in inculcation of scientific temper and attitude among the student and the society. The department had organized a National seminar on Electro Magneto Ceramics Devices and Systems -02.

Dr. B R Karche is a chairman of Board of Studies in Physics of PAHSUS since 2010. He plays an important vital roll in preparing new syllabus for B. Sc. Part - I, II and III courses every year. He was also a member of Academic Council and Management Council of Solapur University. The department organizes the activities of Seminars, workshops and minor projects so as to help and strengthen the learning process. The educational tours for industrial and research institutional visits are arranged regularly. The midterm examination, seminars and unit tests are arranged for evaluation and practice of annual examination. Department is involved in co-curricular activities like NSEP, IAPT, and NSO Examinations.
