Taking into consideration, the need of the higher education for the student of rural background in this taluka. This college was started by Sahakar Maharshi Shankarrao Mohite Patil. It studies the behavioral habit of human beings. It is a systematic study of human mind. Psychology deals with small children, young boys and girls, grown up people and old people. It deals with mind and head. It studies the human emotions and other feelings. The students in this area have the information of the activities of mind. In several was Psychology plays very important role in human life. So the college started this subject in the year 1967. Initially, this subject was taught by Shri. Mohanrao Baburao Kale. According to Shri. Gorakh Raosaheb Mane was appointed as a part-time lecturer. Shri. M.B. Kale took voluntary retirement in December 1992. Later Shri. G.R. Mane became a full time lecturer in the department. Presently, he is Hade of the Psychology Department.

The department has a good tradition of university results. During the last five years the results of B.A. Part.I and B.A. Part. II are above 80 %.
