Physical Education

Shikshan prasarak Mandal Akluj, taking into account the need of rural students to presume higher education, start the Arts, Science and Commerce College, Akluj in 1967. In the year 1981, the Arts, Science and Commerce College was named after the founder of Institute Shankarrao Mohite Patil  Mahavidyalaya.

 There are different types of department are working the college and department of Physical Education is one of them these departments was started on 17^th November, 1993. In the beginning there was 24 students enrol in the department. From the next year onwards the number of student went on increasing. As an optional subject at present, there are 125 to 150 students admitted To BA-I &  50 to 75 student for BA -II year class.

Initially Shri. Waghmode A.P. was working in the Department. Now Shri. Kokate D.A.  joined the Department as far as Practical is concerned Basket Ball , Kho-Kho, Hand Ball, Athletics and Yoga etc. games  are available which help the students to developed fundamentals skill and fitness of the students. Due to the practical in various games students of the department get success in Zonal and Inter Zonal Tournaments as far as theory concerned the subject like Anatomy and Bio-Mechanics are involved the syllabus which help the student to achieve scientific knowledge and importance of physical fitness as well as effect to exercise on human body.

The other subject like Psychology is also involved in the syllabus of Physical Education which helps the students to know the knowledge of physical and mental health. This the Department of Physical Education is working positively to achieve excellence day by day.
