Shankarrao Mohite Mahavidyalaya, Akluj is established by shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Akluj in 1967. It is a multi disciplinary grant-in-aid college affiliated to Punyshlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University, Solapur. The college is recognized under section 2 (F) & 12 (B) of the UGC Act 1956. M.A. English course is introduced in this college from 2005-06. The college has rich library, Boys’ and Girls’ Hostel and other necessary infrastructure to run the P.G. course. The Department is headed by Prof. V.R. Surve and there are PG recognized teachers to teach the programme.
