PG_Electronics

With the view to provide the Post Graduate Education in the fields of Electronics, Shankarrao Mohite Mahavidyalaya, Akluj has started the Post Graduate Department of Electronics from June 2006 for disseminating the knowledge of the subject starting from its basic concepts to the current State-of-Art-Technologies. The Department is one of the leading departments of the college performing various activities, College Level, University Level, State Level and National level, and undertaking research projects as well. The department is well equipped with advanced equipments and research facilities. It gives a great pleasure to report that, “VLSI Design and Research Center” is established in the college in Collaboration with two American companies the Cypress Semiconductor, USA and Microsemi USA to peruse the research work in the areas of VLSI design. The Cypress Semiconductor, USA has provided hardware and software. In addition to this, the Microsemi USA has also provided a full laboratory to realize the developments in Fusion as well as Smart Fusion Technology. This research center is fully equipped with research facilities and the research in novel field of VLSI design and Technology.

The course provides exposure to the recent technologies and empowers the students to make them competent for industrial needs, R & D activities and the self employment opportunities. Along with the M. Sc. Electronics course, the M.Phil. (2005) and Ph. D (2009) Programmes are also started. Moreover, the UGC Sponsored Career Oriented Programme – Repair and Maintenance of Electronics Appliances (RMEA) is also introduced in the department from June 2007. It gives a great pleasure to report that, the students have employment opportunities and opportunities for higher education (M.Tech /M.E.) and they are getting job as Assistant Professor, Teacher, Service Engineer, Technical Assistant at BSNL, Sales Engineer, quality control engineer, design engineer, at various Electronic industries.
